Putsborough Cottages - The Anchorage
This delightful – (5* awarded by Visit England) – detached Devon Longhouse is situated in the picturesque hamlet of Putsborough. Offering old world charm the hamlet, with its thatched cottages stream and ford, is surrounded by beautiful countryside and yet is only a 10 minute walk across a private footpath to the 3 mile expanse of the multi award winning Putsborough Sands . Spacious and immaculately presented throughout, the Anchorage is ideal for families and groups of friends. A large gated driveway with plenty of private off road parking leads to a spacious porchway ideal for shoes, wellies, pushchairs, buckets and spades etc.
The large bespoke kitchen is a wonderful place to gather and plan the day ahead or prepare meals with a lovely dining room adjacent for relaxed get togethers or a special evening meal. With a good sized main living room with TV & DVD, cosy corners in the large rear hallway, as well as a cosy first floor snug with TV and bed settee for alternative sleeping arrangements – there is plenty of room for the whole family, whether you need a quiet place to read or a place to enjoy precious time with family and friends. Two staircases at either end of the property lead to the first floor with two attractive bedrooms one with a spacious en suite bathroom with separate shower cubicle. A ground floor double with adjacent bathroom and additional wc off the utility area ensure there are plenty of facilities. Externally, there is a warm outside shower for those “apres surf” occasions, and across the gated driveway is a fully enclosed mature lawned garden with a large patio. This safe outdoor space has sunloungers, dining a ‘Weber’ BBQ and is ideal for relaxed alfresco dining, sunbathing and general chilling! A well behaved dog is permitted by prior arrangement and is charged at £50 pw.

Ground floor Bedroom with TV, adjacent to Bathroom with bath and shower attachment, WC and basin. First Floor Principal Bedroom with King and TV, ensuite bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle, WC and basin. Bedroom 2 with Twin, and washbasin. Day room / Snug with TV and bed-settee for alternative sleeping if required .
Facilities: Linen and towels, Oil CH. Wi-Fi Broadband. No smoking. Garden furniture. A selection of games and books. Off road private parking for up to 4 cars. An electrical charging point is provided. A well behaved dog is permitted by prior arrangement and is charged at £50 pw. Complimentary car parking permit for Putsborough Sands . Short breaks available. 3pm arrival time. Arr/Dep for weekly bookings is Saturday.
