There are two ways into our site.

The first is longer and our newer way because the traditional way through Croyde and Georgeham can be a bit tight with increased traffic and on-street parking. Your choice, but on balance I feel the first way is perhaps easier although about 15 minutes longer. Whichever way you choose, please note that the Georgeham / Putsborough road can be that bit busier during term time at school drop off and pick up times ( 0845 – 0915 and 15.00 – 15.30 ). Also to facilitate your arrival, perhaps just let us know prior your expected and approximate time of arrival if possible…….. it can make life so much easier for everyone! Also, as you near Putsborough, may we suggest you turn off and ignore Sat Nav and just follow our local knowledge……..

Option 1:

From Barnstaple, take the A361 to Braunton and continue north until you reach Mullacott Cross Roundabout approx 7 miles. (It is the first and only roundabout after Braunton!!)
Turn left signposted Woolacombe on the B3343 and after one mile take the first left at Turnpike Cross signposted Croyde / Georgeham. (This junction is on a long corner – DO NOT GO INTO WOOLACOMBE!)

Having taken this road, carry on for approx two miles and take the third right signposted Pickwell. Follow this wiggly road through Pickwell for approx 1 mile and at the T Junction turn right for Putsborough, until you enter the unsigned hamlet of Putsborough.

Just after the first house on your right (The Anchorage), bear left by the post box for 50m, over the ford and up hill and bear right signed Putsborough Sands. Continue for 200m and take the first left signed “Putsborough Sands”. After a short distance, you will come upon my office. If there is no one on duty, swing round carefully to your left into The High Vehicle Park, park up and make a cup of tea!! We won’t be far away.

You have arrived!!

Option 2:

From Barnstaple, take the A361 to Braunton, (approx 5 miles). In Braunton turn left at the traffic lights on the B3231 signposted Croyde, (approx 4 miles). In the centre of Croyde, bear right signed Georgeham (1 mile). In Georgeham take the first left by the village hall, marked Putsborough Beach, and then in 70 metres, left again.

Follow this road for approx 1 mile until you enter the unsigned hamlet of Putsborough.
